Broker/owner of MaxWell Excel Realty, Wayne A Gatza, is excited to be joining the MaxWell Network. We had the pleasure of interviewing Wayne, and it was a wonderful moment getting to know him.

Here are eight questions with Wayne:

1. How many years in the industry as an agent?

I began an agent in 2008 so for 12 years now

2. What led you to want to make the change to being an owner/broker?

I always had aspirations to be a broker. In 2015 I had looked into being a broker/ owner with Realty Executives, but the territory was owned by someone else who tried to recruit me, but I wasn’t interested. Then I saw the MaxWell Realty email in June 2019, and the rest is history.

3. Was there anything that surprised you or you may not have expected about being an owner?

I was surprised how quickly things came together once the commitment was made to become a broker/owner. I didn’t think it was going to be that smooth. The support from the head office was absolutely amazing.

4. What are your goals for growth in your offices? Recruitment/Growth/Opening More Offices?

My goal is to recruit ten agents in year one. Once the office is growing at a good steady rate, I will definitely look to add a satellite office or two as I grow. The goal is to be consistent with recruiting agents and keeping them in the MaxWell family

5. What challenges do you see for the coming year, and what plans do you have to overcome them?

I see a few challenges in the coming year, mostly because being new in the market place I will need to develop consumer confidence, I also have the challenge of recruiting agents and learning curve of all the little things involved in running a brokerage day to day activities.

6. What makes you the most proud to be part of the MaxWell Family?

 I am extremely proud to be a part of the MaxWell Family because the core valves of the MaxWell Family align with my core valves. I feel like I have known everyone forever when it’s only been a few months. From Bill & Bryan to all the other broker-owners to the staff at the head office, it has been absolutely awesome everyone has welcomed me with open arms.

7. What have you enjoyed the most so far about this process?

Everything you need to be successful outstanding leadership! The best part of the process so far has been exceptional support throughout the process. You know you have made the correct decision when you receive all the help you need at exactly the correct time you need it. The attention to detail to help guide you is there immediately when needed. Bryan & Bill don’t give you lip service they give you everything you need to be successful outstanding leadership!

8. What are your interests outside of real estate? Sports, volunteering etc.  Help us get to know you.

Outside real estate, I have always been an active member of the community. I have served as the President of Sturgeon Hockey Club for four years, GM/Head Coach of the Morinville Kings Senior AA Hockey Club 2019 NCHL Playoff Champions & Provincial Champions as well as 2019/20 NCHL regular season Champions. I have served as a Hockey Alberta coach clinic instructor, Hockey Academy Instructor in both Leduc and Morinville. I love woodworking and basically making things out of wood in my spare time. An occasional game of golf is always good in the summer months. Family time spending quality times with my finance, our dog Lexi and cat Bella plus our immediate family.
